Job Description:
Job Duties: Collaborate in the development of strategies and goals for
the Merchandising organization, design and implement category
management disciplines of assortment review, vendor management, and private
label effectiveness. Leading the corporate programs function
within merchandising creating cross functional alignment both within
merchandising and across the company. Establish category disciplines to
optimize merchandising effectiveness. Guide core teams in designing and
implementing category management disciplines of assortment review, vendor
management, and private label success. Provide guidance to the Corporate
Strategy and Corporate Program teams in the development of strategies and
goals for the merchandising organization. Partner with senior merchandising
leadership and cross functional teams to develop and implement
merchandising strategy and annual plans aimed at supporting long range plans, corporate
goals and objectives. Establish and review category strategy, ensure
alignment with corporate goals, and oversee a training initiative which will
ensure strategic alignment across the Merchandising organization.
Provide guidance and a roadmap for the processes used to manage vendor
contractual relationships including processes used to RFP private label
agreements and strategy applied to contract renegotiation. Consult with
Category Management to establish category savings targets and
identifying prioritized partnerships. Establish and drive timelines for
negotiations and identify "vendor asks" to meet projected goals. Consult with
the analytics function, working in collaboration with Category
Management to determine business objectives. Advise and guide on the selection
of category management tools, for both internal and external users.
Define data integrity targets and initiatives, prioritizing the Product
Set-up team in executing against those goals, measuring performance
against established metrics. Develop and syndicate detailed work plans
for each of the major cross-functional Merchandising programs. Select and
roll out new pr processes and project management tools/capabilities. Monitor
program pe performance and develop post mortem analysis while overseeing
best practice de development and sharing across initiatives and teams. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in
Business Administration or closely related (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus Ten (10) years of experience in corporate
strategy planning with product marketing, merchandising or branding.
Experience must include at least three (3) years in merchandising strategy
development and project management within consumer goods distribution,
foodservice and food manufacturing with brand management; three (3) years
implementing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and food retail principles into
food distribution to identify how to help vendors be successful and
satisfy customer need and demand; three (3) years in design and
implementation of business process improvement and change management with a focus
on standard processes, data backed analytics and customer-centric
merchandising within food service, manufacturing and distribution. Demonstrated
success leading merchandise process transformation in a matrix environment
collaborating across cross-functional teams in developing new process and
programs aimed at at driving successful merchandising outcomes and transforming
merchandising pr processes through implementation of rigor and data analytics,
and st standardized processes taking products and services to
