Point-of-care testing solves this problem by delivering the timely information necessary for clinical care.To deliver our purpose we focus on three things:Putting customers and patients firstMaking Talis a great place to workLiving our values to Dream Big, Share Our Screens, Serve Others, Bring Our A Game, and Build TrustPosition OverviewThe Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, helping develop internal controls and processes, and assisting with month-close procedures as well as ad hoc projects as necessary. Ideal candidates will have a combination background in public accounting and in industry, preferably with life sciences and/or medical device experience, and the ability and desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.The successful candidate will report to directly to the Assistant Controller and play an instrumental role in the financial growth of the Company.ResponsibilitiesPerform period end general ledger close and financial reporting process including preparation of financial reporting packagePerform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all Company cash, prepaid expenses, and liabilities are properly recorded and accrued forMaintain fixed asset accounting processes including documentation, timely capitalization, monthly depreciation, tagging, transfers, and dispositionsAssist in month end close related to cost accountingSupport the full Order-To-Cash lifecycleAssist in grant management, including compliance to terms and reportingFile necessary regulatory filings, including 1099s, Use Tax Return, and others as necessaryDrive the monthly variance analysis and make recommendations for resolution of issuesReview, participate in, and coordinate audit deliverables to provide requested documentation and analysis in a timely mannerEnsure the accounting function continually provides first class customer service to both internal and external customersPartner effectively with both internal and external business partners, including auditors, to address and resolve accounting and reporting issuesIdentify opportunities for process improvements, automation and drive the implementation of solutionsAssist with special projects, analysis and other tasks as appropriateQualificationsBachelor s degree or equivalent in Accounting5+ years of relevant work experience in a public accounting and/or life sciences organization; medical device/diagnostics company experience a plusExperience with US GAAPStrong project management and process improvement skillsHighly proficient with Excel and overall M/S Office proficiencyExperience with Netsuite is a plusElite attention to detail and accuracyProfessional, responsive, and customer-focused working relationships with all levels of staffAbility to clearly communicate about accounting issues verbally and in writingAbility to work seamlessly in a cross-functional, rapidly changing environment, and to lead and drive complex initiativesAttention to detail, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvementPositive team attitude with a willingness to work on both smaller and large tasks to help get the job done Talis offers a comprehensive health and well-being benefits programs, long-term equity incentives, time-off policies, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with an immediate Company match, Education Assistance Program, a rotating suite of snacks, Monday breakfasts, Happy Hours, other fun company events and more!
